Last Friday I collected an assortment of flowers for the Boss from her garden. These were to decorate tables for a ‘bit-of-a-do’.A selection of roses, Campanula medium ‘Canterbury Bells’, white carnations, Echinops ritro ‘Veitch’s Blue’ mixed with sprigs of mint, lemon balm and Alchemilla mollis. The roses smelt softly of warm rose petals intermingled with a tinge of cloves from the carnations and on contact with the leaves, wafts of peppermint or lemon balm. Summer in a vase.
No prizes for the arrangements, just a snapshot of what is in flower in the garden, on the table, for closer enjoyment.
