This Monday stage two of my boundary fencing starts. ‘Drew was expected to arrive from Norfolk late morning, it is quite a drive after all. It suddenly occured to me that some of the daffodils just emerging under the trees would in all likelihood be trampled. Quick as a flash, well sort of, before he could begin to unload his van of tools and materials, I nipped out to pick a few vulnerable flowers. Daffodils and Hellebore.
I prefer to see daffodils in the garden rather than cut for a vase but these few needed saving.
I hope that you have had a good Monday. More about the boundary willow weaving to follow.
Take a look at Cathys lovely blog https://ramblinginthegarden.wordpress.com/2016/02/22/in-a-vase-on-monday
to read what she and other bloggers have put in their vases this Monday. These were saved from busy feet.
Beautiful beginning blooms and love the little vases
Thanks Donna, the vases are possibly my all time fave.
Beautiful ! Good save !
Ha, thanks, good comment:)
It would have been a shame to waste these lovelies – they’re beautiful!
What a great little vase – they are all joined togethere aren’t they? And what dark hellebores…let’s hope they and the rest of your daffodils survive the willow weaving trampling. Thanks for sharing
Hi Cathy, you are right the vases can be joined into a long line of about 20 or bunched up or separated into little groups of 5 or 6. My all time favourite vase I think. I am enjoying your meme. 🙂
About 20?! Wow! I can see why it would be your favourite vase 🙂 So glad you are enjoying the meme – it still surprises me to realise how much pleasure I get from my Monday vases and from everyone else’s contributions…
🙂
Thank goodness you thought to rescue them in time. They look lovely in a vase together.
Thanks Cathy, the colours work don’t they.
Your dark burgundy purple hellebores look great with the yellow daffodils, I especially like the ones with large trumpets, Dorris.
Hi Hannah, sadly Hellebores, dark or otherwise, do not last beyond a couple of days in a vase but this time they would have been trampled on so they were saved. Big and small trumpets are all good, I love daffodils. Hope you are having a good week.
Stunning hellebore! So good with the golden daffs.
