what a gem!
Isn’t it just!
Wonderful, I get so excited when I come across wild orchids. This is a beauty. You are right they are scarce now.
Me too! This one was yesterday at work. The garden is on the edge of the Chilterns and very chalky. Persuaded not to mow a large area it is thrilling to now see the wild flowers emerge.
What a fabulous find and great picture
Thank you. It is a delight as it is in area that used to be mown and after some persuasion the boss agreed to leave to allow wild flowers to grow.
What a beauty! The strong purple colour is so distinct, what a find.
It is such a great colour. According to Sarah Raven in her book ‘Wild Flowers’ it “was once common in old meadows on chalk it is now something of a rarity”. I am thrilled as it is in an area on the edge of the Chilterns that my boss was persuaded to leave uncut four years ago.
