Dahlia Arabian Night, Denby Craftsman mug, Geum "Mrs Bradshaw", in a vase on Monday, Persicaria amplexicaulis Firetail, pink Cosmos, Sanguisorba officinalis 'Red Thunder', Verbena bonariensis
It is a beautiful morning here and you can feel the heat building up for a proper Summers day.
My vase today is this
The dark Dahlia ‘Arabian knight’ is mixed with pink Cosmos, Verbena bonariensis, Geum ‘Mrs Bradshaw’ and for Cathy, my Percy: Persicaria amplexicaulis ‘Firetail’.
Placed in a green pint mug I have used many times, it is a Denby 200 year celebration edition which came in a silly Danish Christmas game we played, organised by my lovely Sister-in-law, Helena, a few years ago.
Now you have seen my Monday vase, pop over to Cathys blog to see some of the other many vases shared. If you fancy having a go yourself, be sure to add the link back to https://ramblinginthegarden.wordpress.com
Now I shall place it in the shade of the hall to help it last more than a day.
Have a great week, wherever you are.
That first shot is very artful with the splashes of sunlight and the explosive look of the Sanguisorba. Love the D. ‘Arabian Night,’ too!
I admire Sanguisorba whenever I see it – it adds personality to an arrangement that’s hard to beat. All the vibrant colors you used make a great mix.
Thank you Kris. As I get older my colour choice gets bolder. It is the first time I have tried Sanguisorba in the vase and it seems to be a hit.
Wonderfully dramatic with those rich colours. I like the dark Sanguisorba very much. Maybe a good addition to my planting too. 🙂
I would give it a try Cathy it is a lovely addition to the border and vase. I love the colour of the buttons but also the foliage, it has interesting crimped edges.
Gorgeous rich colours, Arabian Night is a hit. Mine is suffering badly from slug damage so it is nice to see your lovely blooms. Sanguisorbas are delightful, I never thought of using them in a vase, but how lovely they look.
Sanguisorbas are really in at the moment, and I love the way you have blended so many rich colours together. I was rather late in posting this week…Monday was busy, but lovely. Enjoy the vase as the flowers evade the hot sun outside.
