This is a tiny vase I purchased whilst visiting Delft. Hand painted in Delft blue and white it is only 10cm x 5cm x 6cm (perfect for ‘hand luggage only’ travel).
It is also the perfect size for the tiny scale dahlia mignon. The top of the vase even has little holes ready and waiting:
It was half price so how could I resist.

Oh so cute!
Thanks Sandra
Lovely flowers. xx
Thanks, they are dinky aren’t they
Pretty Dahlia and very pretty vase, what a lovely reminder of your visit.
Thanks Christina. A pretty souvenir, naughty but nice.
So pretty Dorris and what a good buy. I have a flower brick which I love. It was expensive though. But flowers are so easy to arrange in it and always look lovely. Your dahlias look so pretty.
Thanks Chloris I couldn’t resist the daisy like bloom but they are tiny not like a real dahlia. What is your flower brick?
Ooh, I love your Delft vase, what a lovely piece of china! It reminds me of the tulip vases with the holes ready to take the flower stems. Hold on tight to that one, it may be slipped into someone else’s hand lugguage!
Cheeky as ever
Your vase is an ingenious design and you have chosen a very pretty little dahlia flower too. I love it!
Thanks Cathy.i believe it is a miniature take on one of the tulip vases created in the days of tulip mania. Have you seen them? They have trumpet like protrusions for the individual stem.
Oh yes, I think I saw one on our version of Antiques Roadshow once! How lovely!
Do love that programme
I love the pale and softly complementary colours between the vase and daisies. Beautiful!
Kate, thank you
I don’t know if I have ever seen white dahlias – so pretty!
Oh that vase, I want it!
Thanks. Sounds like a trip to Delft is required. Fun place with children as it is traffic free, bikes only. If you need a place to stay I can recommend an Air B&B
