Persicaria affinis
This morning we woke to our first proper frost. Bright at the moment, rain later. So a quick few shots of the view to share with Cathy and you, of course, at https://wordsandherbs.wordpress.com
A frozen Shropshire Lad
Cynara cardunulus dusted with frost looking almost monochrome
The border showing Autumn colours with a backdrop of Horse Chestnut trees, Aesculus hippocastanum.
If you look carefully you can see that the leaves are dropping. Looks like some more raking is required.
Frozen
The light was lovely, golden. A beautiful Autumn morning, I hope you got to see a bit of it.
that looks like a pretty heavy frost Doris; beautiful but I’m sure deadly to some of your annuals.
Properly chilly. No more dahlias cosmos or cornflowers and as it is now pouring I think it will be no more leaves as well.
Beautiful views ♥
Thank you
Your first frost looks like a really good one – how special that it’s coincided with the rich autumn colours. Beautiful images, the rime on the cardoon seed head is stunning. Lower temps with cool mists here so far, proper frost soon, I hope.
Those autumn leaves dropped fast today after the cold night. It is now pouring so I think tomorrow will show all the leaves are down. Be careful what you wish for! That frost will come
Yes, good day for frosty pictures in the garden today, even if not much else!
It looks so pretty with the frost everywhere Dorris. Those chestnut leaves will no doubt drop a bit quicker now after such a cold night. It is still damp and grey here and I can’t bear to take a picture of my view right now, but maybe we will get a frost soon and I will share!
Do you know the leaves pretty much all dropped today after the frost. I look forward to seeing your frosty pictures soon (no doubt)
