You know how Hyacinth bulbs grow, fast and then wonky, a bit unbalanced? well this particular one was leaning in at me over the sink.
Snip.
That’s better, a single stem for the black vase, ready for Cathys “in a Vase on Monday” https://ramblinginthegarden.wordpress.com
I hope it will last the week, sharing its sweet scent.
Have a good week wherever you are.
Black and white – perfect Doris. The bloom looks perfect.
Gosh, that really hit me in the face when I opened your post Dorris! Why do they insist on bending, despite being turned at least on a daily basis? Definitely the place for it, in a vase – and you will have some lovely scent in your house too. Does it have any friends, or was it growing on its own?
It is one of three, all leaning despite daily turning. On the window sill making the washing up less of a chore.
There is nothing as perfect as a beautifully formed white flower–no mater how wonky!
Thanks Marian, yes I do prefer the white ones
You solved that problem nicely – looks great in the vase! 🙂
Thanks Cathy
I have never seen white Hyacinth – very elegant and lovely.
I can smell it from here!
I’ve picked some Sarcococca and it’s scent is filling the house. As nice as hyacinth which is hard to beat
That was a good idea I haven’t tried sarcococca in a Vase.
Black and white, how sophisticated. I haven’ t grown white ones for ages, I can’ t think why not, they are gorgeous.
I think they are slightly less scented than the blue ones so seem less overpowering indoors.
