blushing, camellia, Easter, March, pink buds, Saturday smile, white flowers
You may possibly remember me showing you a fat pink bud from my camellia? in a vase? No? oh do please pay attention.
I should love to be able to tell you that the bud has opened to reveal its white centre. Alas not. After two weeks the bud had fattened up, then almost over night it just gave up and browned on the edges. Disappointing.
Outside however, despite the onslaught of the Beast from the east and incessant rain, this has revealed itself:
Somehow the pink buds have begun to open revealing this, a white flower, blushing.
Happy Easter to you, wherever you may be. D.
It is so elegant!
Thank you. And yes I think you are right, it is rather elegant
Shame about the one in the vase. The outside one is lovely.
Thank, and to you too. xx
It was an experiment that didn’t work but thankfully I didn’t cut them all.
Two weeks? Well, that is longer than I would have expected. I do not bring them in unless they get floated in a bowl, and even then, they last only a few days. We have some nice ones at work, and the white ones are doing nicely this time around.
I think perhaps the white ones are my favourite but they do suffer browning if it is very cold
Yes, they excel in white . . . which is my favorite color anyway, but the flowers are weaker. I remember that from growing them.
Wow, gorgeous! Happy Easter Dorris!
Best laid plans……. That’s gorgeous. Happy Easter to you too.
Ha yes. Best laid plans
