This is what I have in my vase today, the husk of Allium schubertii
I rather like the name as it makes me think of a conductor waving his arms in all patterns of the music.
I have it sat on a glass shelf with a selection of beach finds.
So not much of an arrangement but from the garden nonetheless. I am of course joining Cathy with her weekly meme. Join in or take a look. It’s a good start to the week. D.
Clash of cymbals!
Love this!
Ha, yes! Exactly.
This allium is worth growing for its amazing seedheads as well as the flowers.
Did you have any problems setting up your blog.? Did you start a completely new one or pay for more space. I’m already worrying about running out of space.
In the end I decided to pay up and shut up. I have paid for a personal plan and will be shrinking my photo files. It was easy enough once I had decided to just pay and get on with it! There are other perks such as voice of fonts and colours.
I have one of these in my kitchen. They are fascinating aren’t they?
Yes I love them. I just hope a fresh one appears this year
Not a bonkers husk at all, but stylish and elegant and I like the analogy of a conductor waving his baton. I too have an aged one in a vase on a mantelpiece
They are fascinating aren’t they?
Indeed – and yet I haven’t grow them for a few years .Must remedy that next year
This is only the second one I got to so far, but both are rather minimalistic.
When I lived in town, I used to wait for the lily of the Nile flowers to dry beore deadheading them. My neighbor liked them as cut flower. In the 1970s, they might have been spray painted some odd color.
In the 70s they would probably have been brown, or orange!
Yes; gads.
Love it, never successfully grew an allium.
They are easy here otherwise I wouldn’t have managed it!
There is really nothing else like the starry orbs of Alliums in the garden!
