Brother Dorris and his family visited from New Zealand for a few days. Yesterday, before they left for the airport they helped me do a few jobs in the garden.
The best little helper, helped me plant some seeds: Red Pak Choi, French breakfast radish and Calendula.
The best kind of help.
In the run up to my Open Garden at the end of September, in aid of The National Garden Scheme I have got a phenomenal amount to get done. This little bit of help has got me started on the task ahead.
Thanks. Have a safe trip back. D.
As you say – the best kind of help. Good luck with all your preparations.
Thanks Sandra. All free time for the next three weeks will need to be spent in the garden.
One assumes their visit to the UK was longer than a few days though! How often do you see them? Glad you had some helping hands in the run up to the opening ps there must be something about your Saturday posts, Dorris, as that’s 3 on the trot where the comments are off…
Their first visit since emigrating nearly five years ago. They had a couple of weeks in the uk. Not long.
Silent six on Saturday seems to be an annoying thing which I thought I had fixed.
They don’t have any regrets about leaving the UK? They would easily fill a fortnight, I guess, especially if there was a lot of family to see. What do they miss most (if anything), apart from family?
No regrets. They love NZ but miss the historical buildings and our gentle green countryside.
NZ is green too, surely, but I suppose not a ‘gentle green’; I frequently look at the countryside hereabouts and know I wouldn’t want to live anywhere other than the UK
Nor me
