Cathy of Words and Herbs has presented a challenge to cheer us all up:
From Sunday the 22nd through to Saturday the 28th let’s share a photo a day (or more than one if you like) of our flowers and gardens and brighten up this dreary time.”

The garlands of marigolds were at the entrance to a hotel where a wedding was underway. Aren’t they fabulous.

That garland of marigolds is such a nice way to decorate a doorway! Lovely photos to remind us of warmer sunnier days. 😃 Thank you for sharing!
Pleasure
Simply splendid – love those marigolds. Nice to be reminded that it won’t be long until the aconites reappear!
Those marigolds were a fabulous sight. Thanks Cathy. The aconites are such a pretty sight just before the cattle are allowed back in the fields
Swoon! Everything is lovely. Those aconites are amazing!
Thanks 😊
Wonderful flowers!
Thanks
I love all the bright colours… esp. the gourds and marigolds. The carpet of aconites must have been a lovely sight to see in person!
Thanks Eliza. They are not far from where I live and I visit every year. As impressive as a carpet of bluebells to my eye.
A beautiful, cheerful selection – I’m completely smitten by the aconite carpet, wish it were mine 😀 I’ve planted some but it’s very unlikely that I shall live to see the day when they make such a carpet. Brown sugar is a smashing variety too.
Thanks Annette. Brown sugar is scented too so it’s in my top ten tulip list. The aconites are stunningly pretty. They are not far from where I live and I try to visit every year. They seem to thrive on the heavy soil
Had to look up Aconites, don’t think I have ever seen any, love them! And the marigold garlands, wonderful.
Dorris, I think t was YOU who inspired me to delve into aconites. They and all your photos are a boost today. The warmth and richness of oranges and yellows…
How marvellous those marigolds are! Nice warming choices. Aren’t spreads of aconites just the best thing?
Bright blooms (and squashes) from brighter days!
