52 Week Photo Challenge, abandoned, Champneys, container grown rose, garden gate, gate, patio rose
I could call this ‘Roses around the Gate.’ Featuring: a garden gate. Plot: a garden gate rusting away, disguised by an unknown rose, waiting to be restored to its former glory.
Beautiful. Look at the roses. How lovely to see these whilst we are in the depths of Winter.
At first glance I was taken with this beautiful rose. So many buds, such a pretty colour, the intriguing wrought iron of the gate behind. As my eye focused in I saw that the rose was in an enormous terracotta pot.
The pot shows itself to have stood there for some time, certainly through a Winter or two, the bottom of the pot is crumbling away. The beautiful, intricate garden gates are rusted and have had layers of chicken wire attached to keep something out, or in perhaps. The gates lead into a walled garden which sadly has been rather left to its own devices.
Waiting to be rescued and restored to their former glory.
Joining Sandra of https://daffodilwild.wordpress.com who is one of the hosts of the 52 week photo challenge. Take a look at the other gates shared and should you fancy joining in, next week the word is Happy.
