Cosmos, Dahlia Arabian Night, Dahlia mignon.mixed, in a vase on Monday, Rose "Lark Ascending", Tse & Tse April vase
A row of flowers comprising dark pink Cosmos, small terracotta Dahlia mignon, Dahlia Arabian Knight, Rose Lark Ascending and the tiny white Dahlia whose name I have lost.
It was late in the day when I got the chance to put this together and so the light was poor and electric light has tainted the colours.
Not much I can do about the light but I can pull the line into a group thanks to the flexibility of the vases, my favourite by Tse Tse.
I am off to take a quick look at some of the other Monday vases on Cathy’s lovely blog https://ramblinginthegarden.wordpress.com Did you get chance to look at them?
It’s a classy line up Dorris. Lark Ascending is growing on me, not usually a fan of apricot roses but that one has a delicious scent and looks good against the darker shades in your line up.
Thanks Liz, as you know the Lark Ascending was a house warming gift and it would not have been a rose I would have chosen but it is now a firm fave as it is such a good colour to compliment the darks and brights and as you say, it has a delicious rose scent.
Oh what a lovely range of apricots and oranges – a brilliant selection for your bendy vase. What a lot you have flowering in your ‘new’ garden. I intend to wire some of my test tubes to create a similar effect – another rainy day project that we haven’t had any rainy days for! Hope you enjoyed your few days away
Well Cathy I admire your creative abilities but hope that you have to wait for a rainy day for a few weeks yet, this is our Summer after all. My ‘new’ garden is blooming well and the raised beds that are for cutting are getting going, I am rather excited about the possiblities these offer. The great thing about a few days away is that you come back and look at the garden with almost new eyes. My ideas are brimming once again.
Sorry, I wasn’t wishing rain on you Dorris, but I am sure a shower or two wouldn’t go amiss…? Don’t you just love it when when those thoughts and plans and ideas all comie rushing in? I need to carry a notebook round with me, I think! I hope to post an update on my cutting beds today, so perhaps you could you link in and show us how your raised cutting beds are doing?
I have just done my tuesday view. is that what you mean? Didnt do the cutting beds although I did share my great big lily and if you dont look too closely you can’t see the munched leaves!
When Christina and I do updates on our cutting beds we usually link to each other as it helps to share the information gleaned – and we welcome any others to do the same. I shall have a look at your lily – and will of course search for munched leaves now you have mentioned them!! 😉
Ok I will do the same
Shouldn’t have mentioned the munched leaves!
Well you have 😉
Stunning line up. I really like the aerial view!
Thank you!
What a cool vase set. Love the apricot roses. I’m seeing a lot of that color and I realize I have nothing in my garden remotely that color. I’ll have to remedy that!
Eliza, firstly I need to thank you for donating your sweetpea seeds from Cathy. Imagine my surprise to open up a green envelope to find a packet of seeds with a post-it note explaining where and why. How lovely to return from a few days away and to get that little treat rather than all bills. So thank you.
As to the colour of the rose, I agree it is a good addition for the garden as it compliments pinks so well.Enjoy your day
I thought you’d be happy to get the sweet peas. I’m glad they arrived and were a pleasant surprise. Cheers!
Fabulous vase(s), a different arrangement every day. I do like the first picture, very classy! The aerial view is a beaut to showing all those amazing colours together.
Thanks Sandra. It is a versatile vase as you can shorten the row to have just one or two and you can wrap them around one another to make a circular cluster. I love it but it is a nightmare to clean!
This is a wonderful way to display lots of individual flowers! So pretty and so flexible too! Love it!
Thanks Cathy you understand why it’s a favourite of mine
Lovely colours and what a brilliant way to display your choice blooms. So pretty.
Thank you Chloris. The vase is a joy to use but a mare to clean.it is good for the smaller dahlias
